Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with lower colorectal cancer (CRC) survival,
which may be due to later CRC stage at diagnosis. Evidence is conflicting regarding
the association between DM and CRC stage. We sought to determine whether patients
with DM present with a later stage at CRC diagnosis compared to those without DM.
